What exactly is compared?

The selectable text of each page, word by word. Added words are green, removed words are red.

Do images or layout changes show up?

No. This compares text only, so moved images or font changes are not flagged.

What about scanned PDFs?

Scans have no text layer. Run OCR PDF on them first, then come back and compare.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Both documents are read and compared entirely inside your browser.
